Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We had a great time here. The food and desserts were delicious. The ambiance was nice, although the space was a bit limited. There was a pianist playing in the background, which added a lovely touch. The service was fine. We booked a couple of days in advance. Prices are above average — we were a group of four, and the bill came to 680 PLN."
"I’ve been to Restauracja Gessler twice already and each time it felt like stepping into a little world of elegance and warmth. The atmosphere is truly special – cozy, beautifully decorated, and you immediately feel welcomed. The staff are incredibly polite and professional, always making sure everything is just right without being too formal. They serve traditional Polish cuisine here, and every dish feels like it’s made with real heart. I absolutely loved the mushroom soup – rich, comforting, full of deep flavor. The Viennese-style schnitzel was another favorite, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. I also tried the pierogi and the crepes with filling, both so delicious and thoughtfully prepared. To end the meal, I had the crème brûlée, silky and creamy with the perfect crunchy top. Everything about this place feels so genuine and carefully curated, and I know for sure I’ll be coming back again."
"Good solid polish food, slightly overpriced. Staff wearing , but cheap looking white jackets. Good beer, decent wine list."
"We stopped by this restaurant for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by its unique decor and the upscale dress code. The entire staff, including the owner, was well dressed, adding to the restaurant's professional atmosphere. The seating was comfortable and stylish, with good cutlery and a piano positioned in the middle of the room, giving it an exclusive feel. While the service was friendly and kind, there was a slight language barrier, and communication in English seemed a bit challenging. However, our order was executed rightly, so it wasn't a significant issue. As for the food, it seemed a bit mismatched with the overall theme of the restaurant. Bagels seemed out of place, but they were tasty. The dumplings, on the other hand, were a bit unusual - lacking in the promised cracklings and filled with small onion bits, which made them a bit oily. Despite this, the flavor was still enjoyable, though it didn't quite feel like a proper dish. Halfway through our lunch, a pianist arrived and added a delightful touch to our dining experience, enhancing the ambiance of the restaurant. Overall, while there were some minor quirks, the restaurant offered a unique and memorable dining experience."
"Absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. They were attentive and clearly passionate about providing great service and paying attention to every detail. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and relaxing, making it the perfect place to enjoy a great meal. The prices are very fair for the quality of both the service and the food. Speaking of the food, it was definitely the highlight of the evening. The dishes were delicious, high quality and full of flavor. It was my second time here and I will be back for sure!"
"Amazing food, probably the best lunch deal in town, all in a classy and cozy ambiance, including a live piano player. On top of that it's dog friendly. Champagne is well priced and also one of the best deal in town. Make sure to book in advance because it's usually packed. You can trust the lunch selection on business days."
"Came here on Monday evening at around 18:00 and the place was soo full there wasn't even a single table. So next day I came for lunch to see what this place is all about and I wasn't disappointed. As I went in and waited to be served the gentleman in a yellowish Suit welcomed me and was Extremely friendly. When I mentioned I am from Croatia and wasn't used to Polish Winter he sat me at the table with a heater, so I am as warm as possible. He was so friendly that I thought he must be the Restaurant owner or something. But one of the regulars there (Charming Lady Barbara). Told me he isn't, but is just working there. For a meal I had their standards daily soup, and the main course for the day. All was excellent and surprisingly cheap. I ordered two deserts just to try it out. But the portions where huge. Almost as meals on their own. Loved it and will be sure to visit next time I get the chance."
"One of the best meals while in Warsaw was at this famous restaurant by a top chef. Fancy inside, the menu presents Polish dish and every one is well prepared and tasty. Paired with very refreshing white wine, the chilled beet soup was excellent, especially with the bread brought to the table. For the main, I ordered beef wrapped with plums and a few other things. It’s a traditional dish and worth trying! Service was elegant yet approachable."
